Overwater Villas With Slides
One Maldivian resort put a slide from the upper deck of a water villa into the lagoon, and half the atoll followed. It is now a real search and a real reason people pick one resort over another, particularly with teenagers along. Not all slides are equal. Some drop you a couple of metres into deep water, some curve gently into knee-deep sand, and a few are shared between villas rather than private to yours. We say where each slide starts, where it lands, how deep the water is underneath, and whether it comes with the entry water villa or only with the top suite. Resorts that have added one recently get the same scrutiny as the originals.
